Which Secondary Schools Have Affiliated JCs? Affiliations and the 2-Point Bonus

When choosing a secondary school, parents often ask whether it has an affiliated junior college (JC). There are two kinds of link, and they work differently.

1. Affiliated JC: a 2-point bonus

When applying through the Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) after Secondary 4, a student applying to their secondary school's affiliated JC gets a 2-point bonus (2 points off the aggregate; smaller is better). Eligibility follows MOE's rules for the year.

The bonus is used once, at JC admission, and does not affect Secondary 1 posting. For students near a JC's cut-off, 2 points can decide the outcome.

2. IP: continue to your own school or a partner JC

IP students skip the Secondary 4 national exam and continue to their school's upper years or a partner JC:
