How the PSLE score is worked out
Each subject gets an Achievement Level from 1 (best) to 8 based on the raw mark. Foundation subjects count as AL 6 (grade A), 7 (B) or 8 (C). The four ALs are added up, so the PSLE score runs from 4 (best) to 30.

Subject levels in Secondary 1 (Full SBB)
- PG3: every subject at G3.
- PG2: a Standard subject with AL 5 or better can be taken at G3; others at G2.
- PG1: a Standard subject with AL 5 or better at G2 or G3; Standard AL 6 or Foundation A at G2; others at G1.
